Visit of Secretary General, Senate of Cambodia to Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services Islamabad (Nov 16, 2016)

    On the invitation of Secretary Senate, Dr. Oum sarith, Secretary General of the Senate of Cambodia accompanied by Secretarial staff visited Islamabad and as a part of his visit, the delegate visited Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services on November 16th, 2016. Executive Director Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services, Mr. Zafarullah Khan welcomed the delegates and apprised them about the working of Institution. He also expressed his desire for PIPS' willingness for the cooperation between the Senate of Cambodia, Parliamentary institute of Cambodia and Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services on the mutually agreed areas of cooperation. Director Research & IT Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services, Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka gave a detailed briefing on the Institute's research, legislative, capacity building and public outreach services, which the institute is providing to over 1174 Parliamentarians and 5,000 Parliamentary functionaries.

    Mr. Oum Sarith,  Secretary General, Senate of Cambodia extended his gratitude and thanked Executive Director Mr. Zafarullah Khan. He congratulated PIPS team for their extensive work for the National Parliament as well as four provincial legislatures. The Secretary General also expressed his desire that Parliamentary Institute Cambodia and parliamentary functionaries look forward to attend courses offered at PIPS especially on parliamentary research and law making. He expressed willingness to sign an MoU with in future.  The two teams had a memorable group photo while Mr Zafarullah Khan, Executive Director PIPS shared set of PIPS publications with the Cambodian delegates, who were amazed at the hospitality offered by the Institute.
