Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) organised a two-week long Pre-promotion Training Course for the Section officers of the National Assembly Secretariat from January 1st to 12th, 2024 at its campus in Islamabad. A total number of eleven officers attended the promotional course.
The Programme commenced on 1st January, 2024 with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks by the worthy Executive Director PIPS, Mr. Muhammad Anwar. Mr. Anwar ensured the participants that this valuable opportunity of learning will develop relevant skill-set and parliamentary knowledge required for effective performance of the officers role at the Parliament. He highlighted four primary responsibilities of officials at the National Assembly Secretariat including: working with the presiding officers, duties in the House, responsibility in the Committees and lastly assisting Honourable Members in their parliamentary work. He wished the participants good luck for their promotions.
The two-week course was designed to cover relevant areas including the Constitution of Pakistan, Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, Service Rules, Legislative and Non-legislative Business, Committees, Officer Procedures and Communication, and other significant topics related to the working of the Parliament. The programme will conclude on 12th January, 2024. On the last day, the participants will take a comprehensive exam and short presentations on the taught courses.
