Senate of Pakistan steered an interactive programme in collaboration with PIPS training wing to hold two day orientation sessions with the newly elected Senators, which included key topical deliberations on Constitution and Parliament, Rules of Procedures, Working of Committees, Non legislative and legislative business, role of Parliamentarians, etc. The inaugural session saw an inspiring speech by Honourable Chairman Senate/ President PIPS Board of Governors who highlighted the initiatives and role of Senators as well as Senate in strengthening parliamentary democracy and promoting federalism and provincial autonomy. Former Chairman Senate Mr Waseem Sajjad and Former Speaker National Assembly Mr Fakhr-e-Imam also shared the best practices of parliamentary democracy and tools of being effective MPs working for the people of Pakistan. Secretary Senate Mr Amjed Pervez and Executive Director PIPS Mr Mehmood Saleem Mehmood also spoke on the occasion while Director Training PIPS Ms Samer Awais steered the programme as Master of ceremony.
