Internship Program

Appointed for a period of one year, the interns have an opportunity to learn first-hand the work of the National Parliament and the complexity of policy-making. The duties of the selected interns vary from office to office. However, their specific tasks include:

  • Carrying out research to respond to requests from parliamentarians, committees and departments;
  • Participating in committee work as part of the research team directly assisting a parliamentary committee;
  • Preparing studies on public policy topics relevant to parliamentarians; and
  • Providing support in organizing meetings.

Since 2007, over 60 interns have been deployed to assist the National Parliament.
